About Us

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) was founded in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1955.  Since its founding, NAWIC has grown to a membership of 4,000 with 128 chapters across the United States.  Since the mid 1990s, NAWIC has gained international affiliates in five countries; NAWIC-Australia, NAWIC-New Zealand, SAWIC-South Africa Women in Construction, NAWIC-United Kingdom, and CAWIC-Canada. NAWIC has seen its members travel to such countries as China, Kosovo and South Africa to extend NAWIC’s core purpose beyond the North American continent.  . In its 60 years of service to its membership, NAWIC has advanced the causes of all women in construction whose careers range from business ownership to the skilled trades.
This local chapter of NAWIC was chartered on October 5, 1996.  The chapter consists of members who strive to enhance the core purpose of NAWIC through various community projects, education programs and business related programs.  General membership meetings are held typically on the 1st Thursday of each month at various locations throughout Brevard County.
